Volume Calculator
Calculate the volume of a cube, sphere, cylinder, or rectangular cuboid.
Your inputs
Choose a shape. Use the same unit for every dimension.
Your result
Volume is expressed in cubic units.
About Volume Calculator
The Volume Calculator helps you determine the three-dimensional space occupied by various 3D shapes. This tool is essential for calculations involving containers, rooms, tanks, and other spatial measurements in both practical and academic applications.
How to Use
- Choose the 3D shape you want to calculate
- Input the required measurements for your selected shape
- Click "Calculate" to see the volume result
- Results are shown in cubic units
Available Shapes
- Cube: Enter one side length
- Sphere: Enter radius
- Cylinder: Enter radius and height
- Rectangular Cuboid: Enter length, width, and height
Formulas and worked example
Cube: V = s³. Sphere: V = (4/3)πr³. Cylinder: V = πr²h. Rectangular cuboid: V = l × w × h.
A box that is 5 cm long, 4 cm wide, and 3 cm high has a volume of 5 × 4 × 3 = 60 cm³. Enter all dimensions in the same unit; the result uses that unit cubed.
Common Applications
- Calculate container capacity
- Determine room volumes for HVAC planning
- Measure material requirements for construction
- Educational purposes in geometry and mathematics
- Swimming pool and tank volume calculations
