Formula and method

Volume = length × width × depth / 100. Mass = volume × density.

Worked example

A 5 m × 4 m bed at 10 cm depth requires 2 m³. At 1,600 kg/m³, that is 3.2 metric tonnes.

What the result assumes

The density is an editable example, not a universal gravel density. Moisture, grading, and compaction affect delivered quantities.
